Artist Statement
The goal of my art is to preserve segments of Iowa's old buildings and farm heritage so future generations can see the history that we have witnessed. My art is produced from vintage lumber and rusted pieces retrieved from old buildings and salvage shops in Iowa. Each one-of-a-kind piece has been aged with layers of paint and incorporated into 3-dimensional paintings Found pieces are sometimes carved, wood-burned, sanded or stained to create design effects.
